The Economic Collapse is a Sign a New Freedom is At Hand!

The media loves suffering. Everyday we hear about bank bailouts, job loss, economic collapse. The retail sector is suffering. Corporate bonuses are fast becoming a thing of the past. Madoff scandals are proliferating like flies over a corpse.

Times are tough.

But there is another way to look at the "terrible" situation around us. It's a relief we don't have the old economic structures any more. No more skyscraping corporate expectations. Booming Egos: You can Make as Much Money as You want! The Sky's the Limit!

How many times have the Gurus told us we deserve more!!! It's because we've been told this so many times that people like Bernie Madoff can accept no less for themselves.

The times of the Ego Boom are over.

It's a relief we can forge from this impasse something different--something like the internet, open, inclusive, transparent: a communal order where language is not based only on economics (profit) but economy-- the old Greek word for "harmonious circulation"-- input equaling output; what goes out equals what comes in; you have enough and you don't need the excess that has marked the culture of the last 20 years; this balance means our wealth is forever; we will always have enough because we are contented with our share.

Perhaps in this new world, our needs are based not on how much money we make, how many "toys" we can boast of, but how intensely we've lived in coherence with our family, our own truths, our unfolding.

Perhaps in this new world, it matters not how much of an impact we've made in the business world, how financially successful we are, whether we've "made it" to the million dollar club or whether we have the latest technological gadgets, but how much we are able to see the good in others, how much we've inspired them to see the good in themselves and how much we've contributed to their unfolding.

Perhaps the best thing that's happened to us is this economic collapse. It is opening our eyes to other possibilities. Are we ready for the Golden Age?

Are we ready for 2012?
