Justin does not look like someone who needs mental health counseling. He is a typical college student - clean cut, trim and determined. He does well in school and has a small circle of friends, almost all of whom are not aware of the other Justin behind the persona - a young man plagued by bouts of anxiety, panic attacks and depression.
He has been prescribed Prozac which seems to have helped him, but even with that, he feels anxious, tired and depressed most of the time.
Justin's situation is not unusual; in fact, he is part of a rising wave of college students who have been actively seeking mental health counseling on campus.
Cases of young people requiring mental health counseling have increased over the last decade and a half.

One possible explanation for this increase is that mental health education is becoming more accessible. This increase in numbers could merely be an indicator that point to a simple fact - more students are seeking help from mental health programs because they are more aware of mental health education.
If the numbers are up, they might reflect a new trend, that students are more open to asking for help with mental health problems and less influenced by the stigma of mental health issues.
