The last 20 years have witnessed dramatic changes in teaching strategies. No longer do teachers work with a one size fit all curriculum; steps have been taken to ensure that the curriculum meets and addresses individual differences among children.
Moreover, school boards have dispensed with IQ tests because intelligence is understood as context rather than quantity; the right question has displaced the right answer. Although there is still room for improvement, school curriculum has changed to the extent that it reflects an underlying appreciation of this fact: each child is unique and experiences a different reality as well as a different learning style.
It is indeed consoling to discover that medicine has also turned the corner in this regard.Take for instance, Dr. Peter Hanfileti’s paradigm changing practice; he has combined pediatrics with energy medicine. By doing so, he has opened up his repertoire for treating physical, mental and emotional problems in children.
What does this mean for our children?
They will no longer be merely passive bodies to be worked upon by the medical doctor; they will be working in partnership with the doctor.
Dr. Pete describes the situation in this way: ”Once we switch to using the child’s energy system and describing energy related functions, now we have moved into the territory of energy medicine and the term ‘energy’ being used in the context of distribution and decision-making by the child’s own intelligent underlying system.”
In this scenario, the doctor provides the tools to help awaken the body’s innate wisdom; by doing so, he enlists the participation of the child and patient in his or her own healing.
If we, as a culture, are ever to reclaim ownership of our bodies and minds, we need to take the time and make the effort to look for medicine that is truly reflective of the discoveries and new understanding of our present world. We need medical practitioners who understand that the body is not just matter, but an intricate balance of energies that are palpable, though invisible to most eyes.
We can no longer ignore current research on the human energy field, the dynamics of which is known as Psychoenergetic Science: a system based on the concept that health or wellness is our ability to maintain a coherent conversation between our inner and outer selves, our electromagnetic field signatures and our physical body.
This is not mere fantasy, but 21st century science, which we ignore at our own peril.
Do we want to latch onto dinosaurs laden with the “well-worn creeds” of the past? Or do we want to sprout wings and head for the skies?
