Another Plus for Breastfeeding!

Do you know that breastfeeding your child for four months or month can mean fewer behavioral problems for your child at 5 years of age?

This is the finding of a new study at Oxford University in London, England. Breastfeeding has already been correlated with fewer infections, higher intelligence and lower body fat in children. Now there seems to be evidence that the simple act of snuggling your child to your breast and feeding it au naturel can influence his or her behavior.

Scientists speculate that that these positive changes can be due to the close physical contact fostered between mother and child during breastfeeding. Or it could be a substance in human milk that can moderate the behavior of a child.

Whatever it is, it provides all the more reason that baby should get mother's milk for at least the first year of its life!

More on this study here.
